Re: Local economy

Sometimes I get caught up in how great an idea can be and make quick declarations about my intentions, only to realize later that whatever it was I declared may not have been the best decision or the most feasible. So it goes.
I keep thinking about the decision I made to link solely to IndieBound for literature. I really love the idea of linking to a book, you type in your zip code, and you find who has a copy closest to you. But, it really stinks that they don’t have a more full page with book descriptions. And what stinks even more is that not every bookstore is hooked up on their system. That really stinks.
So, I’m altering my resolution, and in most cases I’m going to link over to Google Books, and in some cases I might just link directly to a publisher’s page. What I like about Google Books, though, is that it offers a description of the book, links for you to choose how you will obtain the book (hopefully locally) — including links to IndieBound and WorldCat (which LFPL doesn’t seem to be hooked up to). Sometimes there are reviews, quotes, and previews. Here’s a good example of a book I just finished reading.
Anyway, I just needed to clear that up. I know it may not matter much to you, but please forgive my hastiness. I’m really not so fickle in real life.
